Men’s Breakfast Teams

By 7:00 each Sunday morning, the kitchen in Burtenshaw Hall is busy as men from the parish gather for a St. Aidan’s tradition – making Sunday morning breakfast.  Whether it’s bacon and eggs, biscuits and gravy, personalized omelets, or a signature hash brown casserole, the meal prepared and served by the seven breakfast teams is always a winner.  “This is my favorite meal of the week,” a frequent attender recently said.  The good-natured rivalry between the various teams for “best breakfast” keeps the menus fresh and interesting.  The men serve an average of 100-plus breakfasts each week.  A word to the wise – come early!

Sunday morning breakfast is much more than a meal; it’s a chance for us to gather as a church family, catch up on each other’s weeks, and hear about the comings and goings of our busy members.  No other experience is quite as welcoming as sharing a table with a group of friends, old or new.  Newcomers and visitors are always welcome at our breakfast tables.  In fact, the “welcome gift” given to visitors at the end of the Sunday service includes a free family pass for their first meal.
